William Frederick Pitts (b. Nov. 27, 1919, March Field, Calif.-d. Dec. 30, 2008), U.S. Air Force officer, was awarded his pilot wings even before graduating from the U.S. Military Academy in 1943. After serving as an instructor pilot, he served with the 431st Bombardment Squadron in the Marianas flying 25 combat missions in B-29s. Robin Olds (b. July 14, 1922, Honolulu, Hawaii-d. June 14, 2007), U.S. Air Force officer, graduated from West Point, received his commission and completed flight training in 1943. During World War II, he flew 107 combat missions, and during the Vietnam War in 1966 he completed 152 combat missions.
